Business Development Director



MRIGlobal's Commercial Business Development team provides full-service business development support to identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities aligned with our multi-disciplinary capabilities. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative professional to lead business development in support of MRIGlobal's commercial life sciences services, with a presence on the West Coast. The position will report to the Vice President of Business Development.



This position requires an individual with a talent for building and maintaining customer relationships within the diagnostic development industry, who thrives in advanced technical environments, and can broker and win new business across a variety of client organizations. The position will primarily support the Integrated Health Surveillance and Diagnostic Business Unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:




  • Experience in and understanding of the diagnostic development lifecycle.
  • Identify emerging trends and customer insights in the diagnostic and life science industries. Work with the Business Unit Director to inform capability growth areas and strategic direction for the business.
  • Shape and execute annual business development strategy and long-range planning.
  • Cultivate new and maintain existing customer and partner relationships that drive new business growth.
  • Actively identify, qualify, position for, capture, communicate and pursue commercial opportunities and strategies to build and manage a robust pipeline of pursuits.
  • Research, assess, and communicate new and emerging trends that impact the business.
  • Successfully partner with technical team members to develop and support customer engagement, opportunity assessment, bid/no bid decisions, storyboard and win theme development, application of market and competitor intel, and proposal development.
  • Represent MRIGlobal at conferences, industry days, customer and partner meetings.



Qualifications




  • Minimum of 10 years of related business development experience in related industries
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant science or business field. Masters preferred.
  • Understanding of the diagnostics industries, including key decision makers, procurement processes, budgets, strategies, partner community
  • Proven success originating, developing, and submitting competitive proposals and winning new work in the commercial biotech market
  • Experience analyzing and understanding market drivers, technologies, and customer's mission requirements
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, MS Office, and standard business tools.
  • Travel up to 50%

  11. Works across Business Units and with the technical teams to capture against leading opportunities.
  12. Engages in flexible, problem-solving behavior. Looks at complex problems and identifies the two or three most critical elements.
  13. Applies broad and seasoned experience to critical business issues and analyzes problems from both technical and business perspectives.
  14. Promotes ideas persuasively; builds networks of colleagues; shapes opinion; and overcomes resistance to new ideas.
  15. Has an accurate picture of personal strengths and weaknesses, is open to feedback, and is willing to improve. Compensates for weakness through effective utilization of others. Recognizes mistakes, learns from them, and moves on to correct the situation.


Pay Range $ 154,600 - $164,000


The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
