The Territory Sales Manager (Apex Cutting Tools) will report to the General Manager, Apex Cutting Tools, and be based in Ontario, or Toronto supporting customers across Canada and targeted U.S. accounts. This position partners closely with operations, engineering, customer service, marketing, and supply chain to drive commercial performance in a highly technical and fast-moving environment.
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for developing strategic relationships with distributors, OEMs, and direct end-user accounts in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and precision manufacturing. Direct end-user business typically requires a hands-on, technical approach, responsiveness to customer requirements, and the ability to differentiate Apex Cutting Tools engineered solutions against competitive offerings.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in assigned territory to generate new business to exceed sales targets
- Develop and maintain business relationships with existing customers while prospecting and onboarding new accounts throughout the assigned territory
- Grow market share in cutting tool solutions by targeting high-value applications within distribution, OEM, and direct accounts
- Understand customer needs, production processes, and performance challenges to identify viable solutions and commercial opportunities
- Utilize value-based selling to win profitable business and demonstrate the performance and economic advantages of Apex Cutting Tools products
- Maintain strong technical knowledge of Apex Cutting Tools product portfolio, including applications, materials, and functional performance
- Collaborate with Apex Cutting Tools engineering, operations, and commercial teams to support and develop business opportunities
- Maintain current knowledge of competitive products, pricing strategies, and industry trends
- Manage opportunities and funnel performance through CRM to forecast sales by product category
- Provide weekly updates on opportunity pipeline, key wins/losses, customer feedback, and market conditions
- Report regularly on competitive activity, pricing dynamics, and recommendations for growth
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- BS in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or equivalent experience with 5+ years of technical or industrial sales experience
- Demonstrated experience with value-based selling in an engineered or industrial environment
- Mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to understand complex applications and manufacturing processes
- Established record of sales growth and account development
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing sales, ideally serving automotive, aerospace, or precision machining customers
- Familiarity with industrial distribution and OEM markets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with standard business software (Excel, Word, Outlook, CRM platforms)
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time for customer visits, trade events, or internal meetings
