Job Overview Title: Abrasive Blast Operator - 2nd Shift Reports to: VSM or Shift Supervisor Location: Kent, WA - onsite Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Schedule Type: 2nd Shift; Training on 1st Shift Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Full benefits package includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) matching, Performance Share incentive compensation (Profit Sharing Plan), 3-weeks paid time off to start, paid community service day, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, long-term care plan options, 10 paid holidays, and onsite health services that includes access to a massage therapist. Salary Range for position: $ 21.75 - $ 40.00. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Position Summary Employees in this position use a variety of media to blast parts in preparation for a variety of surface finishes. Blasters may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. Blasters perform operations in accordance with Military, Industry and OEM specifications. FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing. Why Join Us? Key Responsibilities Work closely with experienced Shot Peen Inspectors to complete work and prioritize tasks for On-Time delivery. Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced operators; apply maskants as required. Prepare parts prior to operations; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable. Legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred. General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors. Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements. Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures. Be familiar with engineering drawing notations Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have a regular and dependable attendance record. Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors. Required to participate in annual Hearing Conservation testing and Eye Exams. Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE based upon requirements in working area. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility. Education & Experience 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Temperature fluctuations based on outdoor conditions.
