As a Production Planner, you'll translate customer purchase order instructions into a work order package of sequential operations that meet specification and industry requirements. You will also assist with customer communication as required to resolve purchase order discrepancies, participate in internal and external audits as needed, and provide final inspection back-up when necessary.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze customer and industry specifications to determine process routing requirements and release work order packages using established sequences to meet specification demands.
  • Assist in the analysis of existing processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Support the development of new processes and procedures to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, and narratives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to identify and address process-related issues and changes required
  • Support the implementation of new process systems to track production performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in training programs relevant to company processes
  • Provide planning support to production teams to troubleshoot process-related issues
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to manufacturing processes
  • Identify and initiates improvements to production process flows.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
  • Experience in production planning and scheduling.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Chemical processing background a plus

  • Experience with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial bores

  • Good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
