Job Summary

The IT Implementation Engineer is responsible for analyzing legacy voice services, including POTS, and migrating them to current-generation solutions or decommissioning as appropriate. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth installation, porting, and disconnection of services, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting ongoing processes. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as expertise in voice telecommunications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze legacy telephony, fax, and alarm services to determine migration or decommissioning requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including validation, installation, porting, and disconnection activities across multiple sites.
  • Order and facilitate installation of POTS-in-a-Box systems for alarm services where applicable.
  • Coordinate porting of toll-free or POTS lines to BVoIP, ReadyLine, and/or IPTF solutions as needed.
  • Transition fax lines to enterprise e-fax services where required.
  • Collaborate with vendors and branch contacts to ensure timely implementation and address post-installation needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of work orders in enterprise tools such as SharePoint, Planner, and Lists.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, project management, and security teams to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Communicate project progress and concerns to management and stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and provide updates as required.


Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in voice telecommunications.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating across multiple sites.
  • Strong understanding of voice systems and telecom service implementation.
  • Familiarity with security and fire alarm systems and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Planner).
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, validate requirements, and apply judgment to resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BVoIP, ReadyLine, IPTF, EtherFAX, and POTS-in-a-Box systems.
  • Familiarity with telecom porting procedures and multiple telecom technologies.
  • Experience with alarm system communications across POTS, radio, or cellular pathways.
  • Knowledge of Zendesk, Telecom Expense Management platforms, MetTel's Bruin platform, and ServiceChannel or similar systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work environment and interact professionally at all organizational levels.


Additional Job Details

  • This role focuses exclusively on telecommunications (voice, e-fax, and alarm communication) and does not involve wireless or data routing responsibilities.
  • Travel may be required depending on project scope.
  • Must adhere to all safety and operational standards during implementation activities.
