Description |
The Logistics Specialist role reporting to the Global Customer Care Director, is a high visibility position expected to work across divisions, functions, and management levels. Job responsibilities are heavily weighted toward international operations and the incumbent will be expected to work directly with colleagues and customers in India, China, Europe, and elsewhere. This opportunity will allow you to utilize and build your experience with both domestic and international logistics and hone your problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills to help serve our business. You will be responsible to provide the logistics and business planning groups with equipment, resource, and cost analysis support to reduce logistics costs and optimize utilization while ensuring that customer expectations are met or exceeded. Candidates should have a strong technology systems aptitude as well as a working knowledge of domestic and global transportation carriers and their services. |

Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Understands and meets the needs of the business units as key customers and builds the necessary strategy to support these business units
- Drives improvements which in turn provide superior service to our customers
- Manages third parties to robust criteria to ensure cost-effective and customer centric delivery
- Establishes a vision for the safe and cost-effective transportation of bulk and packaged chemicals
- Provides management, oversite, and direction to a network of vendors, regional logistics experts and a direct report
- Implements programs to ensure attainment of business plans for service and cost
- Assumes responsibility for the following Key Metrics
- Distribution costs ($ and $ as a % of Revenue)
- Logistic related On Time To Request (%) and Lates ($)
- 3PL Management costs ($)
- Logistics complaint rate (%)
- Total 3P Warehouse costs ($)
- Additional duties as assigned
Compliance:
- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within logistics management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results
- Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities which allow assessments of situations and opportunities
- Working knowledge if IATA, IMDG, 49CFR (parts 100-177 and 178-199) and INCO 2020
- Working knowledge of global customs practices, administration of free trade agreements, duty management tactics and HTS classifications, trade regulations
- Excellent proficiency within Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
