The Facilities Project Management Intern will assist the Facility Project Engineer in process improvement, equipment reliability, and facility projects. This role provides hands-on experience in a production environment, focusing on optimizing operations, supporting capital projects, and applying engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges. The position involves occasional work in plant environments with elevated temperatures and light tool usage. The intern will gain practical experience in project management, manufacturing operations, safety practices, and engineering problem-solving.

Key Responsibility



  • Support facility and equipment projects, including data collection, analysis, drawings, procedures, and documentation.
  • Prepare technical drawings, layouts, and specifications using CAD tools.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities for equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, operations, purchasing, contractors) to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
  • Perform other tasks assigned to support projects and facility operations


Qualifications



  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with MS Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX is preferred
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. Knowledge of foundry operations or thermal processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Skills



  • Experience with auto CAD and MS Project
  • Have good problem-solving for fixing or improving mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics


Physical Demands



  • Adhere to all plant safety protocols and wear required PPE when working in hot environments.
  • Follow OSHA and company-specific safety standards during all tasks.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately to the supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and quality regulations applicable to casting operations.


Safety & Compliance
