Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Central Sterile Technician-Essex Crossing-Day Shift (37.5 hours).

In this role, the successful candidate Position SummaryIdeal candidate must have the ability to work in accordance with nursing, surgeons, and other perioperative staff to ensure all instruments and supplies (e.g. exchange carts, par level carts, instrument sets, single peel packs and sterile supplies) meet established quotas, both qualitatively and quantitatively for upcoming surgical cases. Decontaminate, disinfect, test, adjust, assemble and transport mobile patient equipment. Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, prep and pack, and sterilize designated surgical instrumentation. Conducts inventories (e.g. orders and stocks sterile and unsterile medical disposable goods) in storage areas and ensures sterile processing of all materials.Handles face to face, telephone and other communication avenues to respond to requests from internal and external customers and actively participate in a continuous quality improvement process. Must work well under pressure, being able to prioritize multiple tasks and/or requests for service. Work with vendors and other NYU locations for loaner items and consignment products. Work and train amongst multiple departments. Establish processes for proper individual/team workflow.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Current certification for Central Service Technician (CRCST) by an accredited agency such as the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and do basic mathematical calculations. Position may require flexible work schedule, weekends and holidays. Knowledge of specific health care products, patient care equipment, surgical instruments, medical terminology and basic use is required. Basic computer skills required

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Certification in areas of Central Sterile Processing (CHL, CIS, CER). Experience in computerized instrument tracking software.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70,067.14 - $73,978.11 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
