The Opportunity:

As our Ocean Freight Analyst, you will actively support the procurement of Ocean Freight (full container and consolidated) for Mattel's Global Logistics organization, in alignment with Mattel's Global Procurement Policy. This role plays a critical part in driving data-based decision-making and enabling operational excellence across global logistics procurement.

You will be responsible for procurement analytics, global logistics visibility, contract governance, supplier performance tracking, and market insights. You'll collaborate with a broad network of cross-functional teams to drive cost savings, and help ensure our logistics network is agile and resilient.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Analyze and report total ocean freight spend, identifying cost drivers and optimization opportunities.
  • Manage and analyze large volumes of freight and spend data across multiple regions and systems.
  • Source spot shipping alternatives for full container and consolidated cargo to prevent service disruptions and ensure capacity availability.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives by tracking and analyzing ocean freight market rates and trends.
  • Ensure all shipments and associated spend are properly approved by budget owners, documented in Infor Nexus, and compliant with Mattel policies related to product liability, payment terms, and operational conditions.
  • Track carrier performance and contractual compliance, including volume commitments, terms, and conditions.
  • Navigate differing requirements across countries, shipping modes, and ocean carrier processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to senior leadership.

What We're Looking For:

You're strategic, curious, and comfortable challenging the status quo through analytics, tracking, visibility, and automation initiatives. You thrive in complex, global environments, are detail-oriented when managing contract tracking and data integrity, and see Procurement as a strategic lever for delivering business impact.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in data consolidation, analysis, and reporting (logistics or supply chain experience is a plus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills-Excel is your playground.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated agrowth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in the CPG industry.
  • Familiarity with procurement and logistics platforms such as Coupa, CSO, Oracle, Infor Nexus, and Adobe Sign.
  • Experience with dashboarding and automation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
