Job Description

This position is responsible for investigating and analyzing moderately complex, single-discipline coverage and claims referred to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) for potential fraud. The role involves conducting detailed investigations, performing background searches, taking recorded statements, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing social media activity. The individual evaluates whether fraud can be substantiated and supports litigation when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Claims Documentation: Summarize documents and maintain accurate claim files with notes, evaluations, and decisions.
  • Customer Interaction: Address moderately complex customer concerns and inquiries.
  • Fraud Assessment: Review investigation findings to determine if fraud denial is warranted.
  • Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations, including background checks, and scene inspections.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize analytical tools to identify and validate fraud indicators.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and monitor performance.
  • Claim Decisions: Make informed decisions on claims and pursue restitution when necessary.
  • System Updates: Enter claim data into SIU systems and update files with investigation outcomes.
  • File Resolution: When fraud is not substantiated or evidence is insufficient, return the file to the market claims office for continued handling and settlement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work across all U.S. time zones.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • 3 -5 years of auto insurance claim handling experience.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload while handling complex claims.
  • Experience conducting recorded interviews and witness statements.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for evaluating information.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Law, or a related field preferred.
  • Appropriate licensing is not required but is preferred. Successful candidate will be required to obtain all appropriate licenses upon hire.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role does not include supervisory duties.

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is $53,500- 105,300.00 and is based on experience and qualifications.
