Hardware Engineering Intern

Masimo is looking for a summer intern to join our Hardware Engineering Department. Job Summary:

This position will support the R&D engineering team by contributing to the design and implementation of the instrumentation for the electronic hardware utilized in Masimo's medical devices.

Potential Teams:

Applicants will be considered for one or more of the following Hardware Engineering teams.




  • Sustainability Engineer


  • ASIC Engineer



Responsibilities:



  • Contribute to design throughout the hardware lifecycle including architecture, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Assist with developing systems and printed circuit boards (PCB).
  • Assist with PCB layout and schematic entry.
  • Perform hardware verification testing.



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interface within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting analog circuits.
  • Experience with coding in C for embedded systems for board bring up.
  • Experience with embedded firmware development using ST, Nordic, or Renesas.
  • Experience working with antennae and RF a plus.
  • Experience working with IoT devices a plus.


Education:



  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Must be a current university student to qualify as an intern. Alum candidates and students graduating May/June 2026 are not eligible for intern opportunities.


Location:



  • This position will report on-site in Irvine, CA.


Compensation:

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $22/hr - $25/hr.
