Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Human Factors Engineer intern is to support Engineering and Design on Masimo's medical device portfolio through formative research activities. This position can expect to use a range of research methods to support the development of medical devices at different stages of completion. The individual in this role will collaborate in a cross-functional environment with team members from Industrial Design, UI/UX Design, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, as well as Mechanical and Software Engineering to develop medical devices that are safe, easy, and enjoyable to use.

Potential Team:


  • Human Factors Engineer

Major Responsibilities:


  • Support in creating, running, and analyzing research activities


  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and engineers to understand the goal of a product


  • Provide actional feedback and results


  • Work with Human Factors team and other stakeholders to plan next steps

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability.


  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interface within a cross-functional team environment.


  • Proficiency utilizing the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education:


  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Human Factors, Psychology, or other relevant degree or certificate in Usability/User Experience Research.


  • Must be a current university student to qualify as an intern. Alum candidates and students graduating May/June 2026 are not eligible for intern opportunities.

Location:


  • This position will be on-site in Irvine, CA.


Compensation:

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $22/hr - $25/hr
