Position Overview

TSS is seeking an experienced USSOUTHCOM or SOCSOUTH staff professional to serve as a Security Cooperation Manager (SCM). This role supports engagements with U.S. staffs, U.S. Embassy teams, and partner nation defense leadership across Central and South America. The SCM will identify security cooperation requirements and align tailored solutions to partner nation needs.

The ideal candidate brings established regional relationships, strong staff experience, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic, engagement-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities



  • Engage with USSOUTHCOM/SOCSOUTH staffs, U.S. Embassies, and partner nation defense leadership
  • Build and maintain relationships with Central and South American embassies and partner nation representatives
  • Identify partner nation security cooperation requirements, including ISR-related needs
  • Develop and present solution-oriented courses of action aligned with partner nation capacity and U.S. objectives
  • Proactively schedule and lead meetings, briefings, and engagements with key decision-makers
  • Represent TSS professionally in regional and international engagements


Required Qualifications



  • Prior USSOUTHCOM or SOCSOUTH staff experience
  • Strong familiarity with Central and South American security cooperation environments
  • Established professional network with embassies and partner nation defense officials
  • Knowledge of ISR requirements and related defense capabilities
  • Retired or retiring senior military or officer background preferred:


    • E-7 / E-8 or O-4 / O-5 (or equivalent experience)

  • Confident presenter with a solutions-focused mindset


Language Requirements



  • Fluent English and Spanish


    • Speaking: Mandatory
    • Reading/Writing: Strongly preferred



Travel



  • Approximately 1 trip per month to partner nation locations
  • Average 25% travel, with periodic fluctuations (+/- 10%)
