The Senior Manager, Supply Chain is responsible leading all Supply Chain and Direct Procurement activities for the Lakewood factory, serving as the on-site representative for Procurement, Planning, Logistics, and Warehousing Functions. This role provides strategic leadership for Procurement, SIOP (Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning), Planning, Scheduling, Inventory, and Supplier Management to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused operations. This leader drives the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of factory-level supply chain processes, ensuring alignment with global strategies, optimized material flow, robust inventory performance, and cross-functional collaboration to support production and service-level goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead the end-to-end S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) process for the Lakewood factory, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Align Master Supply and Demand plans for the business unit, supporting new product introductions, product transitions, and long-term capacity planning.
- Establish goals, metrics, timebound objectives, and long-term strategies for Procurement, Planning, Inventory, and Supply Chain performance.
- Develop and communicate forecast accuracy metrics, inventory performance, and supply chain insights to leadership; drive continuous improvement through targeted initiatives.
- Lead the Lakewood Direct Procurement function to ensure efficient, on-time material supply that meets operational and service-level requirements.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies focused on reducing excess and obsolete inventory, improving supplier performance, and strengthening relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Ensure consistent procurement processes, governance, and SAP master data management across factory teams.
- Negotiate through complex supplier situations and manage escalations impacting production or supply continuity.
- Serve as the on-site decision-maker for all matters impacting material availability, production schedules, logistics, or inventory that require coordination with global supply chain teams.
- Oversee requisition and PO management, planning, scheduling, expediting, logistics coordination, and inbound supply from internal/external suppliers.
- Ensure sufficient product flow to meet World Class Service Level targets, integrating global SIOP standards with factory execution.
- Manage inventory deployment, obsolescence mitigation, lifecycle transitions, and write-off processes.
- Support customer centricity through robust communication, risk mitigation planning, and proactive escalation of material or supply risks.
- Establish uniform practices and processes across procurement and supply chain functions to support lean operations and drive functional synergies.
- Lead cost-management initiatives and resource optimization efforts aligned with global and regional supply chain strategies.
- Ensure SOX compliance across all procurement functions and support compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong analytical rigor in system operations (SAP MRP/MPS, procurement workflows, planning tools).
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Lakewood Supply Chain and Procurement teams to drive high performance, engagement, and alignment with Terumo BCT core values.
- Build strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, quality, finance, engineering, and global supply chain partners.
- Manage department budgets, company code expenditures, and logistics service costs as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relatable field, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered
- A Master's Degree or MBA is desired
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years progressive management experience in Supply Chain roles, including:
- Experience as the responsible party for the SIOP process
- Experience in global high-volume manufacturing/distribution environments.
- Experience managing global inventory with batch/serialized traceability and shelf-life requirements.
- Experience in a regulated industry, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical experience is desired.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Experience managing end-to-end Supply Chain performance employing a hierarchy of KPIs, metrics, and measures.
Skills
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of the Sales and Operations Planning Process
- Demonstrated understanding of integrated business processes (e.g. Order to Cash, Plan to Manufacture, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Service to Satisfaction) and the systems/tools that support them
- Demonstrated proficiency as a creative and practical problem solver
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence, influence at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through both direct and indirect reporting relationships
- Proficient in analytical data assessments and topics of varying complexity in order to present insights based on business acumen and broad subject matter expertise to senior leadership staff
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations APICS CSCP/CPIM or CSCMP Certification is desirable. LOCATION Lakewood, Colorado or Remote PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Typical office environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. There are requirements to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, consistent with other roles accountable/responsible for communication and collaboration with global business functions. International travel will be required at approximately 25%, or as needed due to special business circumstances.
