TITLE: Press Technician C


POSITION OBJECTIVE: The position is responsible for the beginning set-up and/or automation processes for production, with emphasis on measures to increase productivity, efficiency, and utilization.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year experience in flexographic printing facility.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Check Press, Job, and Film status.
  • Check Ink Parameters (viscosity, match PMS Book, etc.).
  • Constantly check the quality and viscosity while the job is running.
  • Get plate sleeves or cylinders.
  • Get inks and setup inks in decks.
  • Get film for job to the press, put setup role in unwind.
  • Get all cores for job, install first core in wind adjust viscosity, add solvent as necessary.
  • When the print is satisfactory, insert the first roll of film for job.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
  • Record all production, downtime information on paperwork, in AS-400 and the Matics System
  • May be required to perform other duties within the plant as requested or assigned based on production needs.
  • This position may require working weekends and holidays to meet production demands
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed is required.
  • Flexibility to work 12 hours rotating shifts.
  • Maintain a clean work area.



WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:



  • Willing to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Must perform work efficiently and effectively under short notice.
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, arm guards).



OTHER INFORMATION:



  • Some understanding of SQF requirements and quality control processes.
  • Experience in SQF and/or ISO is an asset.



TRAINING:



  • Ensure GMP are exerted throughout the production process.
  • Ensure production process follows SQF Code.
  • Attends site safety or job training classes.



MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:



  • Experience driving a forklift truck preferred.
  • Basic computer and calculator knowledge.
