  1. Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)

The System Safety Engineer II performs RAMS deliverables including Functional Hazard Assessments, System Safety Assessments, preliminary System Assessments, Design Assessments, FMEA/FMECA, Aircraft level safety documents for Leonardo Helicopters US products.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Specifically describe the essential duties and responsibilities in order of estimated percentage of time that is spent on each).

The System Safety Engineer main responsibilities are:

  1. Create, evaluate and perform RAMS Deliverables including FHA, FMEA/FMECA, FTAs, CCAs, SSAs and DAs;
  2. Assure RAMS requirements integration into the overall design, development and certification process of the aircraft;
  3. Work with Systems Engineering group to identify and verify compliance with system safety requirements;
  4. Implement and maintain system safety process and deliver the required output data to the agreed schedule;
  5. Review system safety supplier documentation.

  1. Qualifications for Position:
A. Education
  1. Masters Degree in engineering or Bachelors Degree in engineering.
B. Experience
  1. 1-2 years of experience in a similar/contributing roles
  2. Knowledge about aviation technology.
  1. Experience in engineering design, integration, systems safety or projectengineering;
  2. Experience in analysis of technical drawings, System Safety documents, RMDs, wiring diagrams;
  1. Experience about system safety reports: Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), System Safety Assessments (SSA) (including fault tree analysis, Particular Risk Analysis, Common Mode Analysis), preliminary System Safety Assessments (pSSA);
  2. Knowledge about FAA rules for system safety (XX,1309);
  3. Knowledge about SAE ARP 4761, SAE ARP 4754, SAE ARP 4754A.
C. Competencies & Attributes

Knowledge of helicopter/aircraft systems preferred

Good verbal and written communication skills

3.

Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet customer deadlines.
