JOB SUMMARY
As a Co-op, you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactfulto our projects' success.
Success in this role depends on the Co-op's initiative and teamwork skills. A successful Co-op will work with AccountCoordinators and Account Managers to see a project through completion by the end of their third term.
McKenney's has a long history of success in hiring Co-ops and supporting their evolution into industry leaders. Manyof our current senior leaders began their journey in the Co-op program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in managing mechanical, plumbing and/or building automation service and retrofit work, utilizing software,such as Salesforce.
  • Coordinate with vendors to schedule and procure major material and equipment purchases.
  • Regularly update scheduling for project work over the course of the week.
  • Review project drawings and jobsites to develop estimates and proposals under guidance.
  • Obtain, review, and provide submittals for various projects with Account Managers.
  • Regularly lead meetings to schedule labor and review the weekly labor calendar.
  • Survey project sites for adherence to McKenney's safety, quality, and productivity values.
  • Obtain permits and schedule inspections for ongoing projects.
  • Support Account Managers daily in performing various tasks for multiple projects and service jobs includinggenerating POs, making sketches and as-builts, performing take-offs, and developing closeout documentation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • Candidates must be able to enroll in a Co-op program at anaccredited engineering school majoring in Mechanical orIndustrial Engineering, Construction Management, or arelated degree.
  • Candidates must complete at least two full-time, alternatingCo-op rotations before graduation and should avoid a fullcourseload while working, which may delay graduation.
    • 1st Rotation: Fall 2026
    • 2nd Rotation: Summer 2027
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and detail focused.
  • Productive in fast-paced environments withstrong multitasking skills.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, andmanage workload efficiently.
  • Effective communicator across diverseteams, including PMs, drafting, field staff,and fabrication shops.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidates who can work three or more full-time semesters.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
  • No or limited exposure to physical risk; occasional jobsite visits may require climbing permanent and temporary stairs/ladders, passenger use of hoists, and navigating active construction areas.
  • Light physical effort handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds may be required occasionally.
