Job Purpose:

- The TEACH Career Development Counselor at Wisconsin Early Childhood Association Inc. is responsible for guiding and supporting early childhood educators in their professional growth and career advancement. This role involves providing personalized counseling, resources, and strategies to help educators achieve their career goals and improve the quality of early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions with early childhood educators to assess their professional development needs and goals.

- Develop and implement individualized career development plans that align with the educators' aspirations and the organization's objectives.

- Provide guidance on educational opportunities, certifications, and training programs that enhance career progression in early childhood education.

- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and networking events to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing among educators.

- Collaborate with educational institutions and professional organizations to create partnerships that benefit the career development of early childhood educators.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and educational requirements to provide accurate and relevant advice to educators.

- Track and document the progress of educators' career development plans, providing feedback and adjustments as necessary.

- Advocate for the professional development and recognition of early childhood educators within the organization and the broader community.

- Support the development and dissemination of resources, tools, and materials that aid in career planning and professional growth for educators.

Qualifications

Required Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.

Required Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in career counseling or a related field.

- Experience working with early childhood education professionals or in a similar educational setting.

- Proven track record of providing career guidance and support to diverse populations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

- Strong understanding of career development theories and practices.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to develop and deliver effective career development workshops and presentations.

- Proficient in using career assessment tools and resources.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and career counseling software.
