The Cyber Security Intern will have the opportunity to:



  • Assist in Security Monitoring: Help monitor networks and systems for suspicious activity or potential threats.
  • Support Vulnerability Assessments: Participate in scanning and identifying vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
  • Incident Response Assistance: Aid in investigating and documenting security incidents under supervision.
  • Policy and Compliance Support: Help review and update security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Research Emerging Threats: Stay informed about new cyber threats and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Security Awareness: Contribute to creating training materials or campaigns to promote cybersecurity best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare reports on findings, incidents, and recommendations for improvements.

Job Description
The Valley Intern Program (VIP) is a unique and challenging 9-week experience for diverse, talented and motivated students interested in gaining relevant experience in their specific area of study within the banking industry. As a Valley intern you will be part of a team and work on projects that enable you to gain real-world skills and experience -- integrating academic learning with practical application. We offer the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to grow professionally and contribute to the end results of the assigned projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support your manager in performing research and/or analysis on specific topics.
  • Independently complete tasks that contribute to larger projects relevant to the assigned department.
  • Participate in meetings and team discussions to gain insight and contribute to the team's goals or projects.
  • Communicate with team members and other departments to coordinate work, gather information and develop final work products.
  • Join team building activities to establish cross functional relationships within the Valley community.
  • Participate in VIP Mentorship Program meetings with your mentor to enhance your business acumen, network with senior leaders and develop technical and professional skills.
  • Document and report on progress and results of projects and tasks.
  • Attend professional development sessions/classes.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Participate in VIP (Valley Intern Program) hosted events,trainings and projects including
  • Valley Week of Service, Culture Workshops and final project presentations.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned by the respective manager.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Required Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Required Experience:
  • Rising sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.
  • Currently enrolled in a College or University program.
