Description

The Sr. Financial Analyst will act as the strategic finance partner to Safco sales leadership, delivering insights that drive both short-term results and long-term growth. The role also acts as the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) specialist for the business by building budgets and forecasts, producing monthly financial packages, and delivering clear analysis of performance drivers across the business.Areas of focus include sales and customer profitability, operating expenses, and financial reporting efficiency. The role blends day-to-day reporting with forward-looking analysis to support decision-making and business strategy.

This full-time position will report to the Director Finance at our Safco Products office location in New Hope, MN.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Finance and Sales leadership to provide actionable financial insight and guidance on business performance.
  • Lead the annual budget and periodic forecast cycles, coordinating inputs and ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Deliver monthly financial results packages, including detailed commentary on variances and business drivers.
  • Provide both snapshot reporting (budget vs. actual, year-over-year) and longitudinal trend analysis to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Use Power BI and OneStream tools to serve ad hoc and regular reporting requests.
  • Forecast and analyze revenue trends by product line and channel.
  • Support sales during the customer contract renewal process. Advise on program changes based on financial results of the customer.
  • Support the sales commission payments, reporting, and compensation design processes.
  • Monitor operating expenses and headcount, providing transparency and recommendations for cost management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, key assumptions, and performance drivers; communicate relevant financial analysis and findings, productively engaging with management, teammates and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, principles, regulatory requirements, and corporate controls.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) or a similar analytical role.
  • Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills; strong proficiency with Excel and financial systems.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex data, identify key insights, and clearly communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Background in manufacturing, distribution, or a comparable environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools to create dashboards and trend reports.
  • Experience with OneStream, Hyperion, Essbase, or other enterprise performance management tools.
  • Exposure to JD Edwards or other ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of customer profitability analysis, cost structure management, and margin improvement practices.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial leaders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $88,266 - $110,282 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
