Accounting Manager - Fuel Settlements Sunoco LP is a growth company which operates within the following three business segments: Fuel Distribution: Largest independent fuel distributor in North America. Sunoco LP distributes approximately 9 billion gallons of branded and unbranded fuel annually across more than 40 states and the Caribbean Pipelines Systems: Network contains approximately 14,000 miles of pipeline transporting refined products, crude oil, and ammonia Terminals: Owns and operates over 100 terminals throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Europe Summary Sunoco LP is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Operational Accounting team in Dallas, TX. If you are passionate about your work and thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment, we'd love to hear from you The Fuel Settlements Operational Accounting team performs end-to-end accounting and analysis for all fuel supply and bulk sales with various transportation modes, including pipeline, marine, truck, and rail, while ensuring accurate cost of sales and revenue reconciliation. This team is also responsible for bunker sales invoicing, truck transportation, RINS, broker fees, marine charter fees and billing, and the essential duties of this position are designed to ensure that all activities are captured accurately in the general ledger Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: Research and gather information from the team to urgently identify and resolve issues and provide guidance to supervisors and team members in a timely manner Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with internal counterparts to enhance process improvements aligned with company goals Proactively engages in the learning and development of the Supervisors and team members on key systems and processes to support future growth and efficiency Promotes a culture of learning and development, encouraging team members to master various systems and manage workloads Manages issue resolution for the entire team accurately and with a sense of urgency Responsible for a high-volume of accounting information moving between multiple systems Ensures the integrity of financial data by reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and leveraging technical accounting skills to analyze trends in P&L and balance sheet accounts while identifying opportunities for process improvements through innovative solutions Exhibits a record of sustained improvement in key metrics for the team Key Attributes Builds and maintains collaborative relationships across departments, serving as a trusted leader and advocate for direct reports and accounting teams Proactively leads initiatives, resolves complex issues, and mitigates risks with minimal oversight, ensuring team efficiency and operational success Aligns team goals with leadership's vision by setting clear expectations, communicating strategic direction, and driving cross-functional alignment Champions a culture of inclusion, transparency, and continuous improvement by fostering open communication and valuing diverse perspectives Invests in team development through structured career planning, coaching, and mentorship while recognizing contributions and encouraging growth Identifies process and efficiency improvements, leveraging technology and innovation to support long-term department success Demonstrates integrity and accountability by modeling clear, unbiased communication, honoring commitments, and holding the team to high performance standards Strong leadership in a fast paced, dynamic environment Significant level of personal accountability and ownership to proactively identify and address issues as they arise with limited oversight Can develop and maintain highly productive relationships with internal and external counterparties through proactive, effective communication Ability to create or improve accounting process Accepts and gives feedback professionally and translates it into positive changes in behavior and performance Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Experience: 8+ years' experience Required Skills: Proficiency in Excel, and P&L Analysis required Technical Skills: Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, or Robotic Process Automation tools is a plus Preferred Qualifications: RightAngle, Salesforce, Power BI, and SAP preferred Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
