MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must be either an MPH or an MS Epidemiology student at SUNY Albany's College of Integrated Health Sciences; AND must have completed at least 24 credits of coursework toward their degree including at least four of the core courses; AND must have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better AND are unable to participate in an internship if on academic probation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with statistical software (R, SPSS, SAS, Stata) and working with large datasets, including Bureau of Labor Statistics data, Census data, American Community Survey, other census data, and/or New York State SPARCS inpatient and outpatient data. Experience with collecting and analyzing qualitative data. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) is 1 of 9 federally funded national research centers focusing on the healthcare workforce. CHWS staff work with national and state healthcare leaders to understand the factors that affect healthcare workforce shortages. Additionally, CHWS is under contract with a number of healthcare providers in New York State to assess state-funded healthcare training programs. The Hourly Intern II will assist staff to develop and implement evaluations for state- or privately-funded training programs. The work will include both qualitative and quantitative analysis of data and will include working with community healthcare providers.
