Position Description

*This is restricted to Current City of Minneapolis Employees* Assist the Workforce Development Division with the design, implementation, oversight and evaluation of the Public Health Pathways Program - PHPP, including planning and implementation of the PHPP, working with community agencies, other City departments, educational institutions and other partners, and assisting with general administration of the PHPP.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist with the PHPP, including planning and development of the PHPP procedures. * Assist with various aspects of implementing the PHPP: promotion, participant registration and tracking, record keeping, etc. * Make presentations to community groups and other partner agencies to recruit participation in the PHPP and other programs. * Make presentations to MHD staff and leadership to recruit host supervisors for the PHPP. * Make presentations to City departments and other partner agencies about the PHPP and other programs. * Work with the principal investigator on implementation of research protocol, recruitment of PHPP participants, and obtaining consent to participate in PHPP activities. * Maintain records of PHPP activities and enter and review data quality. * Work with community agencies and partners providing planning, technical assistance, communications, as well as develop and maintain relationships, education, and training as needed. * Assist staff with preparation and conducting meetings. * Represent the department at meetings and community events to promote participation in the PHPP and other programs or to meet PHPP goals. * Assist with planning and conducting community-based and other events, to include logistics, scheduling speakers, set up and break down, and other event details as needed. * Assist PHPP staff in evaluation of internship program effectiveness. * Write articles for City Talk and prepare fliers and other written communication to promote the PHPP and other programs and special projects. * Perform administrative tasks such as formatting protocols, procedures guidelines, preparing agendas, assisting with preparation of the PHPP reports and budget reports, etc. * Participate in public health emergency preparedness training and response as assigned.

Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Psychology, Social Services, Health Care, Sociology, Political Science or a related field of study. Minimum Experience One year of relevant experience Licenses/Certifications N/A
Equivalencies
An equivalent combination of education and highly related experience in a similar environment may be considered. Selection Process The selection process will consist of one or more of the following steps: a rating of relevant education and experience (100%). It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. A submitted application is also used to verify the answers to any supplemental questions. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list. The City of Minneapolis Human Resources Department reserves the right to limit the number in any phase of the selection process. Interview Selection The hiring authority reserves the right to determine the maximum number of candidates to interview from the established eligible list. If the hiring authority decides to interview other than by exam score order, they may select additional people to interview based on a candidate's education or experience related to the field, work history, or skills uniquely related to the operational needs of the position. Background Check The City has determined that a criminal background check and/or qualifications check may be necessary for certain positions with this job title. Applicants may be required to sign an informed consent form allowing the City to obtain their criminal history and/or verify their qualifications in connection with the position sought. Union Representation This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Professional Employees Association (MPEA).
