Inserso is seeking a Project Leader to join our team for a rewarding and challenging opportunity supporting a federal government customer based in Washington, D.C. This is a remote position, with potential travel as needed. The Project Leader will be responsible for managing the Deployment Team within the IT Operations Infrastructure Deployment group. This role involves overseeing a wide range of activities, including equipment refreshes and upgrades, new office and facility setups, office relocations and expansions, network infrastructure enhancements, Wi-Fi implementations, and workstation relocations. The Project Leader will also supervise cabling technicians and manage subject matter experts in the completion of complex cabling designs.

To succeed in this role, the candidate must possess comprehensive technical knowledge, strong organizational abilities, and sound decision-making skills. The Project Leader is expected to work with minimal supervision while handling high-impact assignments, ensuring all deployment initiatives are executed efficiently and meet quality standards. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience supporting government contracts and IT infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages, coordinates, and provides daily supervision and direction of a Deployment Engineers, Cabling Subject Matter Experts (SME), and Cabling Technicians comprised of 12 geographically dispersed Full-Time Employees.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of technical resources and perform supervisory and administrative duties.
  • Maintain adequate workforce for uninterrupted performance of all Deployment tasks.
  • Manage the scheduling of both government and Inserso Deployment team resources in support of deployments throughout US and OCONUS.
  • Manage the Implementation Project Schedule for the IT Operations Deployment Team.
  • Ensure successful deployment completion by Inserso Deployment team resources with no user issues attributed to the team upon site departure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement plans and schedules to deliver deployments on time.
  • Monitor, document and report status on deployment efforts.
  • Oversee Cabling SMEs supporting large scale cabling projects, provide structured cabling design and consulting services.
  • Process travel authorization and associated expense reports.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, timeliness and completion of all deployment deliverables per contractual requirements and meet service level objectives.
  • Work in partnership with respective Government Task Manager maintaining clear communications and mutually supportive relationships with OCIO, ICE Programs and other DHS components.
  • Utilize independent judgment and flexibility to accurately coordinate multiple projects.
  • Provide an environment of Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) to improve performance, increase efficiencies, and provide higher customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and training materials.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass the DHS Employment Eligibility Verification process.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years of IT support experience.
  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • 3 years of experience with Project Management and Integrated Master scheduling using Microsoft Project.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL principles and ability to obtain ITIL certification within 90 days of start.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize between multiple activities and assignments.
  • Exceptional customer service capabilities, attention to detail, strong organizational skills.
  • Possess ability to produce deliverables using MS Office products: specifically, Word, Excel and Project.
  • Must be able to obtain up to and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance if needed.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • PMP, CCNA, A+, Network+, Security+, Project+, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience supporting DHS or other similar federal agencies.
  • Understanding of Service Desk operations, NOC, and ServiceNow IT Service Management application.

Physical and/or Mental Qualifications:

  • Outstanding communication skills in both formal and informal formats with customers, stakeholders, and technical specialists.
  • Proven ability to interact with and effectively communicate technical information with senior engineers, technicians, Project Managers.
