Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic business partner, translating complex financial and economic data into clear insights that drive smart decisions and long-term growth. This role performs in-depth economic and financial analysis-including rates of return, depreciation, investment performance, and profit-and-loss results-to support planning, forecasting, and capital allocation. By generating forward-looking forecasts, analyzing trends across sales and financial performance, and building robust "what-if" models, the analyst helps leaders evaluate new products, marketing strategies, and operational initiatives. Working closely with senior leadership and department heads, the role delivers actionable reporting, tracks performance against plan, and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and strategic execution.

This position is at the heart of our financial strategy. Your work ensures that leaders have the clarity and confidence to make decisions tha shape the company's future. By providing accurate analysis and actionable insights, you'll help drive growth, improve efficiency, and keep us on track to achieve our goals. This is also a key early role in a growing FP&A team; you'll help establish and enhance the FP&A brand that will define the team's future.


Essential Duties

What You'll Do

  • Build and Improve Models: Design and maintain financial models that help us forecast, plan, and explore different business scenarios. You'll make sure these models are accurate, easy to use, and provide meaningful insights.
  • Lead Budgeting Efforts: Take ownership of the annual budgeting and regular forecasting processes. You'll collaborate with teams across the company, guiding them through planning and ensuring everything aligns with company goals.
  • Analyze and Advise: Go beyond the numbers-dig into actual vs. forecast results, identify trends, and share recommendations that help us improve performance and make smarter decisions.
  • Tell the Story: Turn complex financial data into clear, engaging reports and dashboards that leadership can act on. You'll make sure the "why" behind the numbers is easy to understand.
  • Support Big Decisions: Be a trusted advisor for strategic initiatives like pricing strategies, cost optimization, and investment opportunities. Your insights will help shape the future of the business.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with senior leaders and department managers, building strong relationships and ensuring financial goals are understood and achievable.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep an eye on industry trends, best practices, and new tools that can make our financial processes even better.
  • Ensure Accuracy and Compliance: Maintain high standards for data integrity and compliance with accounting principles, while safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Mentor Team Members: Share your knowledge and experience to help develop less experienced analysts and other team members, fostering a culture of learning, growth and servant leadership.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of FP&A, financial management, or strategic finance experience.
  • Demonstrated track record in a senior finance analyst role.
  • Industry experience in construction, HVAC/plumbing service, or related industry a plus.
  • Strong modeling and analytical chops - Excel/Sheets mastery is a must; BI tools a plus.
  • Strong presentation, reporting and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong business judgment, and willingness to challenge assumptions with data.
