Pay rate : $17.75 + $4.93 Health and Welfare per hour Choice of working hours 7:00 am to 3:30 PM or 7:30 am to 4:00 PM Job Summary The General Clerk I is responsible for supporting document digitization processes by preparing, scanning, auditing and reviewing microfilm and microfiche images to ensure accurate and high-quality digital conversion. This role involves scanning, adjusting basic settings for optimal image capture, reviewing image frames for clarity and proper document breaks, and performing data entry and indexing tasks. The position requires attention to detail, basic analytical skills, and the ability to follow established procedures to maintain quality standards. Work Environment The work is performed on a client site in a professional office setting where courteous behavior and adherence to site protocols are expected. The environment is climate-controlled and includes amenities such as an onsite cafeteria and designated employee parking areas. Employees must adhere to assigned parking zones; specific spaces are reserved for individuals with disability placards. The work area is located within a large, open-office layout shared by a significant number of state employees and contractors. While the noise level is generally moderate, there is constant background noise from printers, servers, scanners, and conversations. During system maintenance or server reboots, noise levels may temporarily increase. The site experiences high levels of foot and vehicle traffic, particularly during shift start and end times, which may result in congestion. Employees should be comfortable working in a dynamic, shared environment and maintaining focus amid frequent activity.
