DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Government Service Intern at Engineering District 12, your assignment will align with your academic background, placing you in one of several key units. You may find yourself in the STAMPP unit, where you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing pavement condition data, or in the Right of Way unit, where you will engage with real estate data. Alternatively, you could be assigned to the Community Relations office, where you will learn about public relations strategies, or to the Planning and Programming unit, focusing on the financial aspects of the Transportation Industry. This internship offers a unique opportunity to acquire valuable paraprofessional experience in fields such as accounting, business administration, real estate, journalism, and public administration, equipping you with practical skills that will enhance your career prospects in the public sector.
This internship will be for District 12, which consists of Washington, Greene, Fayette, and Westmoreland Counties.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time internship that will run from May 2025 through August 2025
- Work hours may vary based on position
- Travel may be required
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled or intending to enroll FULL-TIME or PART-TIME in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree, or advanced program for the fall semester.
- Must be a Pennsylvania resident or currently enrolled at a Pennsylvania college or university.
- In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
