DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees pay processing section activities related to timely and accurate payment to over 80,000 employees in 42 Commonwealth agencies under the Governor's jurisdiction and select independent agencies which are serviced by the Human Resource and Payroll systems. In this role, you will be responsible for directing the review of employee payroll transactions, analysis of time and attendance transactions, eligibility of compensation and benefit entitlements, calculation of payments and/or overpayments, and preparation of related payroll reports. You will need to demonstrate leadership, a thorough understanding of tax laws, collective bargaining agreements, management directives, and policies and procedures that impact payroll processing. In this position, you will have the opportunity to oversee the comprehensive analysis of business processes and procedures to recommend improvements and deliver data-driven solutions through various technological resources including Microsoft Access, Excel and SAP reporting tools. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
- Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
