Department OverviewAt Motorola Solutions we are helping solve some of the biggest challenges facing public safety organizations today. The Command Central Search team builds software solutions that enable other products in the Command Central suite to meet their customers needs. Our goals are to help public safety professionals easily store and retrieve all the information they need to be able to do their jobs safely and successfully. We work with cutting edge AI in search and analytics combined with advanced modern search technologies to deliver on our mission. Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Gain hands-on experience by developing and deploying micro-services that support the core functions of the cloud SOC, including AI-based Search & Retrieval, metrics and analytics for search.

  • Contribute to code reviews and team discussions, clearly articulating ideas and asking clarifying questions.

  • Actively participate in remote collaboration with global engineering teams, practicing effective communication and time management.

  • Demonstrate a self-driven attitude, taking ownership of assigned tasks and showing a willingness to learn and innovate.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Familiarity with systems-level programming languages such as Java or C#, and a keen interest in writing efficient, high-performance code.

  • Basic ability to troubleshoot, debug, and triage issues, showing a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving.

  • Coursework or hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.

  • Understanding of fundamental software development principles and methodologies.

  • Basic knowledge of or interest in learning about CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field and graduating December 1st, 2026 or later
Must be a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for Masters-level students).
