Overview:
Kearfott Corporation is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Black Mountain, NC. This person will become a valuable part of the finance team and enable cross-training of departmental responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with fellow team members and other business units to gather required information to complete assignments.
Essential Functions
* Prepares invoices in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation standards for cost-based contracts
* Balance Sheet Reconciliations including adjusting entries.
* Intracompany and intercompany postings and reconciliations.
* Conducts research as needed for posting errors, debit memos, customer issues, etc.
* Updates daily cash reports.
* Works on special projects as required.
* Supports finance during external audits.
* Provides ad-hoc reports as required.
* Assists with fixed-asset accounting, tagging, and auditing.
* Cross trained and assist with AR or AP as needed.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks
Critical Competencies
* Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
* Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves.
* Ability to follow through until the tasks are complete.
* Strong organizational and communicational skills.
* Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
* Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data in an ERP environment.
* Deadline-oriented, good time management and attention to detail.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience required.
* ERP experience required; IFS preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
* Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
* Must be US Citizen.
This position is located 100% onsite at our Black Mountain, NC facility.
