Summary


The Process Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. This is an entry-level role ideal for a recent graduate or someone with internship or co-op experience in materials, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering. The engineer will work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and quality teams to identify opportunities and implement solutions on the shop floor.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Analyze and improve current manufacturing processes and workflows
  • Assist in the implementation of new equipment and technologies
  • Participate in process troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methods
  • Collect and analyze production data to recommend improvements
  • Document process changes and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize material usage and minimize waste
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards
  • Provide technical support to operators and production teams
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow evaluations
  • Other Duties as needed or required

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:



  • Basic understanding of process engineering, manufacturing systems, and materials
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic CAD or process modeling software
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills across departments
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative on process improvement


Preferred experience/skills


basic CAD or process modeling software.


Statistical software. JMP/MiniTab



Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus




Physical Demands - OFFICE / TRAVEL



  • Standing/Sitting 30/70%
  • Walking/Bending/Stooping 20%
  • Lifting Requirements: 25 pounds
  • Travel by air, rail, auto (10% of time)
  • Work in manufacturing area, QA lab and office areas
  • Exposures - Odors, Fumes, Noise, Chemicals, Temperature, Vision strain, Moving parts.
