Scope of Work

The research assistant will work directly with Principal Investigator Dr. Xuanfeng Ding to develop the next generation of Spot-scanning Proton Arc (SPArc) therapy optimization algorithms, supporting the future implementation of Dynamic Arc therapy.

The candidate will be primarily working in the proton therapy center, (1) investigating the timing structure of the treatment delivery sequences in collaboration with multiple institutions; (2) designing and developing the next generation of optimization algorithms for SPArc therapy; (3) performing dosimetric planning studies and exploring the potential clinical benefit of using this novel treatment modality. The candidate need to demonstrate strong programming skills and experience in research, clinic, or industry e.g. MATLAB, Python, and treatment planning systems, .etc. Candidates with experience in particle therapy, high-energy particle accelerators, and delivery sequence modeling are highly preferred. The candidate will also work with the collaborators to advance the technology together.

To assist in fulfilling the required research project protocols. The primary responsibilities include performing laboratory experiments and analyzing data under the direction of the principal investigator. This includes ordering and preparing research supplies, recording procedures and results, and reporting results to the principal investigator.

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's Degree in a science related field.
  • Preferred Master's Degree in a science related field.
  • 3 years of relevant experience Minimum of three years laboratory experience Required
