Laboratory Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the supervisor and/or manager with personnel functions for the Laboratory section to include leadership and direct supervision of daily staff performance and competency.
- To help achieve our mission, you will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
- Providing oversite of quality assurance operations of the Laboratory to include all aspects of the quality management program is of vital importance.
- Participating in the daily operations of the Laboratory section including financial, record keeping and quality assurance responsibilities is expected.
- Your ability to provide technical expertise and organization for the Laboratory section to ensure accurate and efficient specimen testing is required.
- Complies with all standard operating procedures (SOP) and assists with writing and/or reviewing SOP for content/correctness and implements new procedures with required documentation.
- Ensures compliance with Laboratory policies/procedures and with applicable requirements for accreditation by CAP, The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
- Leads and/or actively participates in quality improvement projects and team member engagement by enhancing team development and hospital/system goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in science
- Years of Experience: 3 years of experience required.
- Certification Upon Start: ASCP or AMT Board certification consistent with scope of responsibility to include MT, MLS, MLT, BB, SBB, C, H, M, SH, SCT, MB, SMB, SM, SC, and HEW.
