Job Description

Albany International Corp. is seeking a temporary Internal Communications Specialist. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, the Internal Communication Specialist will be responsible for supporting and enhancing internal messaging and employee engagement initiatives across all business segments. Working closely with executive leadership, HR, and segment heads, this role helps develop clear, consistent, and compelling communications that reinforce Albany's culture and strategic objectives.

  • Assist in developing and executing internal communication plans that support business objectives and promote Albany's brand, culture, and values.
  • Draft and distribute internal news, organizational announcements, leadership messages, and other employee-facing communications.
  • Support the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives, including town halls, forums, and recognition programs.
  • Coordinate with HR, marketing, and business segment leaders to ensure alignment and consistency in internal messaging.
  • Create and maintain digital content for internal channels, such as the intranet and digital signage, ensuring messaging is accurate and timely.
  • Monitor employee feedback and sentiment; compile reports and recommend enhancements to internal communication strategies.
  • Assist with change management and crisis communication efforts, working alongside senior leaders and relevant teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication processes and champion best practices throughout the organization.

Preferred Experience / Characteristics / Competencies & Education

  • Entry level experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or related fields, preferably within a public company or global organization.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; adept at tailoring content for diverse employee audiences.
  • Strong understanding of internal communications principles, employee engagement, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking.
  • Experience with content management systems, intranet platforms, and digital communication tools preferred.
  • Ability to gather and analyze feedback to assess communication effectiveness and recommend improvements.


Remuneration & Benefits / Other

  • Location: Portsmouth, NH, full-time in office, 9/80 schedule: Week 1 - 9 hours Mon-Thu, 8 hours Friday; Week 2 - 9 hours Mon-Thu, Friday off.
  • Compensation: Structured to attract and retain top talent.
  • Please Note: Due to the restricted nature of work, only US Citizens and US Persons (permanent residents) will be considered for this role. Employment visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
