The Department of Pathology is recruiting for a temporary Phlebotomy Technician I for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Laboratory. This position will perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Will work variable hours (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available) may include weekend and holiday rotations. Position Responsibilities: * Performs phlebotomy draws. * Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required. * Orders, receives, and distributes supplies. * Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas. Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background check and health screening and should be prepared to provide references upon request. Minimum Eligibility Requirements High school graduation or equivalent Desirable Qualifications * Previous public contact/customer service experience * Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience * Previous experience performing phlebotomy in a neonatal and/or pediatric setting is highly desired. * Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting * Basic computer skills * Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment * Previous patient contact experience
