First Western is seeking an Associate Director, Credit Documentation & Workout Strategy (CDWS) to join our team!

As an Associate Director, Credit Documentation & Workout Strategy (CDWS) at First Western, you will play a vital role in helping high-net-worth clients achieve their financial goals. You will work closely with our Legal & Governance team to deliver comprehensive solutions that exceed client expectations.

What You Will Do:



  • Own and maintain standard loan documentation language, forms, and templates, including LaserPro expertise.
  • Decide on changes, exceptions, or edits to loan documentation, including Escrow and Deposit Account Control Agreements.
  • Manage the credit legal requisition process, oversee related legal services, and oversee the recovery legal expense budget.
  • Ensure proper collateral position, documentation, and lien perfection for complex and specialty loan closings.
  • Enforce the follow-up on collateral and documentation issues identified in pre- and post-closing processes.
  • Develop and conduct best practice training and educational seminars.
  • Provide expertise and transfer knowledge on loan structuring and collateral coverage.
  • Create and maintain checklists and procedures for credit process aspects, including client due diligence.
  • Lead loan workout strategy, credit oversight, and resolution of non-performing loans, including guidance for relationship managers.


What You Bring:



  • Understanding of credit analysis, financial restructuring, and risk management
  • Problem-solving, analytical skills and familiarity with banking software systems
  • Good negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Thorough knowledge of loan documentation
  • Knowledge of legal and bankruptcy remedies
  • Accurate keyboarding skills, strong Microsoft skills

Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field Required

Experience Length Experience Details Required or Preferred

7-10 years Demonstrated legal understanding of loan documentation, negotiation, and problem loan resolution Preferred

7-10 years Commercial lending, loan workouts, credit risk, or distressed assets Preferred
