Job Summary:The Corporate Turnaround Director position will provide project development guidance to Manufacturing Sites Turnaround teams during the execution of a Turnaround Management Process for planned events. The position is intended to promote the application of CFI procedures, Company "Best Practices", and tools to the turnaround process that ensure the milestone plan for Turnarounds are achieved. This position will create alignment across all Corporate and Manufacturing site departments in order to maintain a 7 year look ahead of TA events supporting the organizations asset integrity programs, financial outlook, and production requirements.
Job Description:
Job Responsibilities: General:
- Assist manufacturing facility T/A leaders in managing a Turnaround Management Process for planned events and ensure it evolves as each site needs dictate.
- Ensure that manufacturing facility T/A leaders are acting as primary points of contact between Capital Project Teams, Contractors, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, Procurement, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Security and the Warehouse during all phases of an event.
- Ensure that manufacturing facility T/A leaders are coordinating turnaround logistics plan development and execution with Security, Operations, Maintenance, and Site Contractor organizations.
- Work with Corporate EHS and Manufacturing Sites EHS departments to ensure safety policies and procedures are properly integrated into the turnaround planning phase and adhered to during turnaround execution.
- Facilitate formal site interactions to ensure capital project deliverables are on track for timely integration into an events planning and scheduling activities.
- Evaluate current Capital Spare assets, their utilization capabilities throughout the network and the potential need for value added additions.
- Encourage manufacturing facility T/A leaders to perform a scope challenge process that ensures all work being considered for execution inside the turnaround window will accomplish the events objectives and provide a long-term return on investment.
- Guide the performance of risk assessments for all critical work being performed during an event and provide guidance during mitigation development.
- Perform formal review of the Events schedule and its critical paths for accuracy and attainability.
- Review execution strategies with the sites as it pertains to contractor quality and package turnover.
Event Forecasting for the Organization:
- Collaborate with Corporate Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, EHS, and Manufacturing sites to understand each stakeholders requirements for event scope, timing, EHS risks, and total capital/expense cost.
- Incorporate collaborative results to maintain a bi-weekly communication that accurately forecasts timing, nature of cost, and overall durations enabling transparency to all departments around the network.
Network Learnings Incorporation:
- Promote the inclusion of company best/shared practices concerning EHS, mechanical integrity, reliability, and Quality Assurance in to the execution plan.
- Work with Corporate Leadership and Manufacturing sites in developing strategic network contractor alliances that provide long-term benefits for immediate and future site events.
- Participate in after action reviews during T+1 and T+3 TA process milestones in order to capture lessons learned that could be implemented into the Corporate Turnaround processes as well as future individual events around the network.
- Personnel directly reporting to the Director shall hold a seat and participate in a detailed manner on all best practice initiative teams as well as related task forces developed for immediate remediation of network issues.
Subject Matter Expertise Recognition/Management:
- Assist manufacturing facility T/A organizations when outside shop surveillance is required. The intent of this assistance could be for direct support but should always consider supporting/guiding a site representative in the surveillance effort.
- Recognize talented resources that can directly affect manufacturing site events and add value to future events at other sites. Further develop and maintain a resource sharing strategy from site to site (CF employees or Contract professionals).
- Mentor personnel that illustrate the potential to add value to the organization in regard to total quality management of TA events and Capital Projects.
- Continually identify ways to add value to CF industries through the Corporate T/A group within its resources capabilities. As there is a need for different or additional SME's within the corporate TA group, communication to the manufacturing organization should be established for defining the attainment path forward.
Interim Event Support:
- Assist manufacturing facilities with SME support for unplanned outages that require specific and special knowledge for corrective measures to be successful.
- Utilize the Corporate TA groups knowledge of network professionals that have experience within impromptu outage scope and organize/facilitate communication as required during the event with all personnel who can assist by communication or onsite support.
Successful candidates will have:
- BS Engineering, BS Construction Management or Verified Turnaround Management Experience.
- Ten plus years of TA and project development/management experience within a chemical/petrochemical manufacturing facility setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively among company senior leadership personnel during the advisement in technical, commercial, and personnel decision-making processes.
- Possess a strong collaborative character enabling the individual to work fluently with CF Senior leadership, Plant General Managers, Manufacturing Site Staff, Contracting Organizations, and Tradesmen.
- Flexibility for frequent international travel as well as travel within the US.
- Capability of acquiring, maintaining and possessing a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) as well as a Passport.
The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.
