Mission for Position

The Infusion RN delivers exceptional, compassionate, and individualized care-upholding Lakewood Health System's commitment to innovation, excellence, and person-centered service. As a key member of our Oncology & Infusion team, you'll bring positivity and purpose to each interaction, supporting patients and families through complex treatments with both clinical excellence and heartfelt connection.

Duties & Responsibilities

As an Infusion RN, you'll play a vital role in providing safe, expert, and compassionate care:



  • Perform comprehensive assessments before, during, and after treatment-monitoring vitals, evaluating response, and identifying potential complications early.
  • Manage infusion access including insertion, maintenance, and monitoring of peripheral and central lines.
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy safely and effectively per provider orders, ONS guidelines, and institutional protocols.
  • Educate and empower patients and families with clear, compassionate teaching on therapies, side effects, and self-care.
  • Lead in symptom management, assessing and addressing treatment-related side effects and comfort needs.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with oncologists, pharmacists, and advanced practice providers to deliver coordinated, individualized care.
  • Provide holistic support-ensuring patients and families feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.
  • Commit to professional growth through continuing education and certifications in oncology and infusion nursing (ONS, INS, etc.).


Position Type

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. No weekends or holidays are required.

Qualifications

Qualifications



  • Current Minnesota RN license
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within six months of hire


Ideal Candidate



  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification preferred; can be obtained after hire
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
  • 2+ years of infusion experience or 1+ year of chemotherapy/immunotherapy experience
  • Has strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
  • Uses a holistic lens to assess and support patients and families
  • Prioritizes safety and integrity in every decision
  • Communicates clearly, kindly, and compassionately
  • Brings positivity, adaptability, and teamwork to every shift
