The Senior R&D Engineer with polymer science fundamentals interested in advancing their career within Avient's Specialty Engineered Materials is responsible for designing and conducting experiments toward supporting specialty product lines in the wire and cable space. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to commercialize these products and support the business by identifying growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of wire and cable formulations in the building and construction, healthcare and other industries. They should have a working understanding of the regulatory requirements in this area and be able to work with regulatory agencies to gain qualification listings for newly developed technologies.Responsible for designing and conducting experiments toward the development or improvement of custom polymer compounds. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Education and Experience * Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is required * Ph.D. in a related field is preferred (materials science, polymer science, polymer engineering, etc.) * 5+ years of related experience is preferred.
