Job Summary
As a Safety and Security (S&S) Network Operations Control (NOC) Partner on the S&S NOC Team, you'll be the frontline expert ensuring Southwest's operation runs safely, securely, and in compliance 24/7. In this dynamic role, you'll review real-time events, answer high-stakes operational questions, and guide stations through critical safety and security steps. Your expertise helps mitigate risk, maintain regulatory alignment, and keep our aircraft, assets, and stations operating reliably. By providing tactical and strategic guidance to the NOC, you'll ingrain safety and security into daily operations while influencing long-term decisions. Every action you take strengthens operational continuity and reinforces Southwest's commitment to delivering a safe, efficient, and customer-focused experience.

Responsibilities
- Act as a tactical liaison between Southwest Airlines and various State and Federal compliance officers and organizations that are onsite at a Southwest location - i.e., OSHA, CALOSHA, FDA, EPA etc.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by providing real-time support to internal Customers pertaining to Southwest Airlines policies/procedures and DOT, Hazmat, OSHA and CDC regulatory requirements
- Work closely with the CDC to report public health concerns, and follow any CDC orders; provides guidance to all Southwest Leaders related to CDC designated public health concerns
- Monitor and asses risk associated with various Federal Government Agencies; such as Customs and Border Protection, Transportation Security Administration, HAZMAT, CDC, OSHA and Local and State agencies along with other Safety & Security regulatory programs
- Provide daily oversight of the established internal Southwest Restricted Traveler List
- Provide support with safety related efforts to increase compliance by monitoring work related injuries, and reporting serious injuries to OSHA
- Serve as a liaison to promote Safety Management System (SMS); ensuring Leaders are knowledgeable of Safety Reporting, Safety Promotion, and SMS concepts
- Assist Investigation Teams for any OSHA and/or NTSB related events for injuries or damage
- Serve as a point of contact and resource for Federal Law Enforcement partners to include FBI, DEA, local and state police agencies and HSI
- Provide Safety & Security regulatory knowledge and guidance to all Operational Departments
- Respond to issues from the frontline and onboard our Aircraft to provide guidance based on regulations, Company policy, and industry best practices
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
- Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
- Skilled in written and verbal communication
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, which does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
- Ability to be aware of hazardous situations and handle emergencies as needed
- Ability to review reports and analytics to execute plans for improved performance
- Ability to rotate on-call work 24/7 to include holidays, overnights and weekends
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Aviation Part 121 Operations (Cabin/Ground/Flight), including working in one of the following disciplines: NTSB, Safety/Security, QA/QC, Regulatory Compliance, Law, International Business or Technology
- Project Management
Licensing/Certification
- Ability to receive clearance to be TSA qualified as an Aviation Employee Vetting Manager (AEV)
- AEV Requirements are SSI
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $98,650 per year to $109,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
