The Senior Engineer works with application developers to automate and accelerate the testing, release and deployment of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. The Senior Engineer will have a background in development, operations, and full-stack implementations. They will also have experience programming in a high-level language such as Ruby, Python, Java, C# or other language to script installation, configuration and provisioning. They will be providing continuous delivery solutions in a cloud environment and have experience with the core suite of tools used to manage different cloud providers.

The Senior Engineer may also be responsible for building and maintaining optimized and highly available CI/CD pipelines. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for mentoring and teaching existing team members. As such, the ideal candidate must have experience clearly explaining solutions to complex problems and demonstrate the ability to lead and impart knowledge effectively to junior resources.

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing the installation and configuration of solutions.
  • Completing code and script updates, as well as resolving product implementation errors
  • Contributing expertise on information system options, risk, and operational impact.
  • Mentoring junior software developers in gaining experience and assuming DevOps responsibilities
  • Collaborating with developers on software requirements.
  • Overseeing routine maintenance procedures and performing diagnostic tests.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Science Required OR Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Management Information Systems Required

Experience

  • 5-7 years with a broad portfolio of AWS infrastructure tools (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC) and with cloud infrastructure management and automation technologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages (shell, python, ruby) for monitoring and automation.

Preferred

  • Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate and standardize infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Experience using terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure in a scalable and repeatable manner.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker for containerizing applications and ensuring consistency across development and production environments.
  • Proficiency in using Jenkins to design orchestrate, and manage CI/CD workflows that enable efficient, reliable, and scalable software delivery.
