DESCRIPTION: Patricio Enterprises, Inc is looking to fill a Senior Systems Engineer - Combat Systems contingent position to provide the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) support for Combat System Systems Engineering trades and analyses for future Naval Surface Combat and Warfare System Operations to NSWCDD.

Primary duties will include (but not limited to):



  • Provide systems engineering in support of Naval Surface combat system development, including include digital engineering (DE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts, processes, languages, methodologies, and toolsets.
  • Translate combat system requirements and interfaces into design requirements for modeling and simulation systems and virtualized environments.
  • Apply mission and operational knowledge and context to evaluate designs, identify technical issues and associated recommendations (e.g., in satisfying key performance parameters (KPPs), and conduct engineering performance studies and analyses on combat system improvements to new systems, or of existing systems throughout the systems engineering process (end to end).
  • Assist V20 in embracing digital engineering, agile software development, automated testing, virtualized deployments, and open architecture to align with Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) development efforts.
  • Perform engineering reviews and critique of combat system proposals and efforts, identifying engineering shortfalls, key trade requirements, additional option considerations, Analysis of Alternatives, and general assessments of concepts/ideas and methodologies being pursued.
  • Work across the entire organization or program (to include the system and element program offices) to gather and assess information relative to the ability of a single combat system or multiple integrated combat systems to meet their intended need.
  • Provide system engineering expertise to the participation in Government and Industry combat system test events (e.g., agile, Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), including preparation, execution, and report generation.
  • Provide system engineering expertise to the Government through technical planning, preparation, conduct, and participation as a team member in formal, informal, and agile integrated system design reviews or other tailored program-specific reviews.
  • Provide systems engineering expertise to define and implement a digital engineering approach to conducting technical evaluations to include comment collection, adjudication, and resolution in their native digital format.
  • Review and analyze technical products (whether document or model-based); generate, submit, and participate in comment adjudication with the developer.
  • Participate in the prime developer's engineering process and reviews, including digitally based Agile and MBSE engineering reviews.
  • Provide systems engineering (e.g., requirements and architecture definition and evaluation) support for the introduction of Artificial Intelligence based capabilities into the combat system.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:



  • Knowledgeable in the DoD 5000 Framework.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or four (4) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise
  • Ten (10) years of experience in conducting detailed, complex engineering activities associated with engineering systems, capabilities, and activities.
  • Demonstrated experience with functional and system level requirements analysis, requirements generation and technical community review.
  • Demonstrated experience with system engineering design, performance, analysis, operational experience for military applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of system engineering including the definition, functional allocation, design development, testing, integration, and operational performance.
  • Demonstrated experience with development of total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a normal office working environment.
