Responsible for planning, recommending, implementing, medical necessity and appropriateness review programs and Care Management services within assigned departments and in coordination with other areas of the Health System and the evaluation of services provided to include the recommendation and implementation of operational, procedural and/or policy changes. Interpret and enforce both departmental and health system policies. Provide day-to-day peer-to-peer review and discussion and advisory role for personnel. The incumbent will receive general assistance in managing the interactions with clinical and operational programs of all their departments from the Directors of the various departments. Communications in this position include discussions between the incumbent and the Senior Vice President regarding overall operations and those issues affecting other departments within the Health System in programs and services offered through Health Plans Medical Management and Corporate Health & Wellness Services. This position interacts with other managers within the Health System and their personnel concerning their work activities and personnel issues; the incumbent also frequently communicates with representatives of the Clinic, Hospital, Sisters of Mercy Health System, and other organizations or regulatory agencies which may interface with Mercy Health System. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Role Summary The Associate Medical Director (AMD) is a key clinical leadership role within GoHealth's Market Operations division. Reporting to the Market Medical Director and collaborating closely with operational and clinical leaders, the AMD ensures clinical quality, supports provider engagement and development, drives operational excellence, and aligns care delivery with the strategic goals of GoHealth and Mercy.
