PMO Project Manager

Dallas County Hospital District DBA Parkland Health has an opening for a PMO Project Manager in Dallas, Texas. Duties include:

1. Under general supervision, provides project management leadership through planning, managing, and controlling and reporting on the work performed by individual project teams on multiple, concurrent, and increasingly complex projects.
2. Under general supervision, applies Parkland's project management direction, methodology, and processes to assigned projects, in order to achieve organizational goals. Facilitates the process(s) of developing project objectives and deliverables.
3. Ensures comprehensive and consistent documentation and reporting of project metrics, including project variance(s), including milestone tracking, resource usage, and change control.
4. Works with Portfolio Program Managers, internal/external customers, and vendors to project, identify, obtain, and resolve conflicting demands on resources in a matrix organization.
5. Proactively identifies and communicates issues and risks. Makes recommendations and suggestions to the Portfolio Program Manager and implements mitigation and contingency strategies to ensure project health.
6. Establishes and maintains collaborative, responsive customer service with internal and external customers by providing continuous follow through and communication regarding project(s) health and priorities.
7. Suggests, recommends, and implements changes to project management processes, methods, and tools to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that improve the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
8. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the IT area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
9. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
10. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of IT Project Management by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
11. 10% - Local travel to Parkland Hospital campus, and other clinics located within Dallas County may be required as needed for some projects.

Employer will accept a minimum of a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, health administration, or related field and 60 months of experience in project management or in a related occupation. In the alternative, a master's degree in the stated field and 36 months of experience in the stated areas are accepted. Qualifying experience may have been acquired during academic studies. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Experience should include at least 24 months in the following:

1. Managing multiple projects at one time within the healthcare industry which includes planning, tracking, and delivery.
2. Delivering complex projects with significant number of deliverables including creating charter & scope, project schedule using Microsoft Project, Gathering Requirements, and Ability create workflows using Visio.
3. Coordinating or presenting to stakeholders.
4. Dealing with conflict management.
