PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the coordination of design, build testing, implementation, training, upgrades, support and overall system management of all surgery applications.
- Maintains familiarity with all surgery systems for all 5 campuses including but not limited to Cerner, SPM, TrackVIA, Intuitive Hub, Vocera, Care Aware, IV Smart Pump, CaseCheck, BMDI Integration, Schedule 360, UDI, Stream Connect, SurgiCount, and all other systems that surgery implements.
- Acts as Project Manager for upgrades and new system implementations on assigned systems.
- Works with Information Systems and other staff as necessary to assure development and implementation of procedures for managing surgery systems and other related system implementations.
- Assists with coordination of scheduling and implementing all upgrades to all surgery clinical documentation systems.
- Provides second level technical support for all surgical services systems. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all surgical services systems application.
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the file maintenance of surgery patient tracking and clinical documentation computer system.
- Works closely with the Quality and Education team to support quality and compliance initiatives including, but not limited to, Joint Commission Accreditation and Leapfrog initiatives.
- Works closely with Information Systems to ensure documentation complies with standard hospital documentation policies. Works closely with clinical informatics to ensure appropriate staff training/systems education.
- Assists staff with problem resolution and coordinates interdepartmental issues relating to technical issues relating to clinical documentation and patient tracking systems and their use.
- Regularly communicates with system users to determine needs and potential enhancements.
- Provides regular training for all new and existing employees via classes, staff meetings, lunch and learns, unit rounding, etc.
- Provides 24/7 application support on call for all surgical users across all 5 campuses. Includes mandatory participation in a weeknight and weekend on-call rotation.
- Works with Surgical Services Systems Analyst in providing/creating specifications for routine and custom departmental reports using the Cerner Discern Reporting Portal and other database analysis and reporting tools as necessary.
- Demonstrates service excellence behaviors routinely in encounters with all customers, i.e., coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, auxilians, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
REQUIRED
- S. Degree in Nursing, Business, Systems, or related field and two (2) years healthcare financial or clinical systems experience OR Five (5) years healthcare financial or clinical experience
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
PREFERRED
- Five (5) plus years healthcare financial or clinical systems experience (with B.S. Degree)
- Experience in Project Management
