The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Lactation Consultant experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrative compassionate care and support
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree
  • Lactation experience in mother/baby, postpartum care, women's health care

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • IBCLC Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem Evenings
  • Weekends required

Essential Functions:
Provides breastfeeding education and support to parents of infants. Acts as a consultant to parents on post-partum. Conducts follow up with parents as needed. Participates in the education of nursing staff as it relates to breastfeeding. Develops policies and standards of care based upon evidenced base practice and current research. Reviews and maintains current all educational materials distributed to parents regarding breastfeeding. Participates in consortium and community related breastfeeding activities. Maintains regulatory compliance as appropriate. Maintains logs and prepares monthly reports as requested.
