Current Need:

We are seeking a resilient, hands-on Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our EnterpriseRx Data Insights Software Development team. Data Insights transforms complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and improve business outcomes for our customers. This team is responsible for delivering robust data and analytics products, with a technical stack including Snowflake, Qlik, Matillion, Looker, and Azure. The team comprises data engineers, QA analysts, cloud engineers, and business intelligence engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of technologists, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive culture.

  • Own the technical delivery and operational health of the Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring daily ELT processes complete on time and data quality meets agreed SLAs.

  • Manage and prioritize future enhancements for Data Insights, production incidents, and customer Level 3 support escalations, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic goals.

  • Serve as a primary technical contact for customers, adept at communicating at varying technical levels and managing escalations professionally.

  • Align with Product Management to define and execute on the product and technical roadmaps.

  • Drive architectural decisions and ensure scalable, maintainable, and secure software systems.

  • Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and agile methodologies.

  • Monitor and improve team performance, delivery velocity, and code quality through metrics and continuous feedback.

  • Manage cross-functional dependencies and proactively resolve delivery risks and blockers.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Critical Skills:

  • 9+ years of experience in software and data engineering, with at least 1+ years in a people management or technical leadership role.

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle.

  • Experience with modern data engineering approaches and technologies.

  • Strong background in building, and maintaining complex data pipelines, including ELT/ETL processes, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and data quality.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and leading multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and growing engineering talent.

Work Environment:

  • This is a heavy remote role. Preferred locations are Irving, TX, Columbus, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA.

  • Travel up to 10%.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$127,500 - $212,500
