Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join us. This position will be based out of our Orlando, FL office.

Responsibilities

    Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design concepts and solutions for a multitude of transportation and highway-related projects
  • Support project development and environment (PD&E) studies, concept development studies, road safety assessments, and transportation planning documentation
  • Research, collect, tabulate, interpret, and summarize data
  • Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
  • Prepare meeting agendas, meeting summaries, and public meeting materials
  • Develop preliminary design plans
  • Develop engineer's construction cost estimates
  • Document and communicate findings from field observations and data collection

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to work in an office or virtual environment
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and committed
  • Strong computer skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experience
  • Engineer in Training certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months, preferred
  • OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD/Civil3D, Synchro, ConceptStation experience a plus
