The University of Arizona's Dean of Students department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill their Veterans Education & Transition Services (VETS) Administrator position.
The VETS Administrator position is responsible for all administrative support functions of Veterans Educations and Transition Services. This includes facilitation of the Veterans Affairs (VA) Work Study program, oversight of VETS accounts, Purchase Card rectification and all other administrative support functions of the unit. The position will report to the Director of VETS. This position may require working additional hours as needed to support the department and provide assistance to the Director. This is an extended temporary position that is expected to last 6 months, with a possible extension contingent on operations need and funding. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Provide administrative support to Veterans Education & Transition Services.
- Serve as administrative liaison to Military-Connected Benefits & Certifications.
- Participate in planning and logistics for events.
- Coordinate departmental travel for VETS staff.
- Maintain unit listservs, phone contacts, directories, shared drives, mailboxes, office supplies and equipment, student position postings, etc.
- Serve as a Site Supervisor for Department of Veterans Affairs Work Study Program within VETS.
- Submit contracts and hours sheets for all work studies.
- Mitigate pay issues if they arise.
- Coordinate interviews for new VA Work Studies.
- Maintain and update VETS Work Study Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop and manage new hire training at the start of each semester.
- Ensure proper P-Card usage and reporting, including collecting/uploading receipts, making departmental orders, and signing out the P-Card to authorized agents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge with VA programming and processes.
- Organizational skills and maintain updated records of VA work study program.
- Ability to interpret PCard policies and procedures and university business practices.
- Excellent organization, time management, and task prioritization.
- Professional communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and Teams.
- Accuracy and consistency in document preparation and recordkeeping.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience.
- 1 year of relevant work experience.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
