As a Staff Software Engineer (FrontEnd, TypeScript) on the Enablement team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the frontend architecture and design patterns that drive consistency, scalability, and performance across Workiva.

This role is about more than building, it's about helping others use what we build. You'll develop shared frameworks, reusable systems, and clear documentation that make adoption seamless for engineers across the organization. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and mentor engineers of all levels, guiding them in applying best practices and delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions.

If you're passionate about empowering others, raising technical standards, and creating scalable systems that teams can easily consume and extend, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What You'll Do

  • Design and evolve scalable frontend architecture, frameworks, and reusable systems that enable product teams to build faster and more consistently.

  • Partner with product, design, and engineering peers to deliver performant, accessible, and cohesive user experiences.

  • Develop clear patterns, documentation, and examples that make adoption of shared systems intuitive across teams.

  • Build and enhance frontend solutions with a focus on performance, responsiveness, and seamless integration with downstream systems.

  • Drive improvements in developer experience, tooling, and processes that reduce friction and improve maintainability.

  • Lead by example through hands-on contributions, code reviews, and architectural guidance.

  • Develop and maintain testing strategies to ensure reliability and quality across shared frameworks.

  • Mentor engineers, fostering technical growth and alignment in frontend best practices.

  • Contribute to discovery and innovation efforts, identifying opportunities to strengthen our frontend ecosystem and developer experience.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field; an advanced degree may be considered in lieu of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of modern frontend and microfrontend architectures, with proven ability to design scalable, maintainable solutions

  • Solid foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed system principles

  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and drive alignment across multiple teams

  • Passion for mentoring and fostering a collaborative, growth-focused culture

  • Excellent communication and technical storytelling skills, you're able to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences

  • Familiarity with agile development practices and continuous delivery pipelines

  • Curiosity and drive to stay current with evolving frontend technologies and best practices

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Embrace your inner wanderlust - expect up to 15% travel

  • Stay virtually untethered with the power of reliable internet access, enabling you to work remotely from your chosen spot, whether that's your home office or a beachside cafe
